3 San Jose Killings In Bloody Weekend

SAN JOSE (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) ― Police were scrambling to find suspects in three separate killings that marked an unusually bloody weekend in San Jose.

The first death occurred about 10:20 p.m. Saturday, when police said they found a 25-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds in 400 block of Sanders Avenue. The man, who was not identified, died at the hospital.

Police were searching for two men and a woman, all between the ages of 19 and 23 years old, whom they believe are connected to the shooting. One man was about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build and the other was about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 160 pounds. Police said the woman wanted was about 5 feet 3 inches and about 120 pounds.

Hours later, at 3 a.m. Sunday, police said another unidentified man died after a knife fight in the 3400 block of Chapala Drive. Police said two others were injured in the fight but their injuries were not life threatening. No arrests had been made and no suspect information was available.

Two hours later, just before 5 a.m. Sunday, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot in the 2700 block of Croft Avenue. Neighbors reported hearing shots fired and a woman screaming, Officer Jermaine Thomas said.

Police were looking for two men they believe were responsible for this case. One was a man was said to be about 22 years old and about 6 feet tall and 245 pounds. The other suspect was described as skinny and about 5 feet 6 inches.

The three homicides all appeared to be unrelated, Thomas said.
