Grassfire Burns Near San Jose Homes

SAN JOSE (BCN) ― A small grassfire burned near a residential neighborhood in San Jose Wednesday night, according to the fire department.

The blaze, reported around 10:35 p.m., burned about 1.5 acres in the area of Senter Road and Feldspar Drive near Coyote Creek, a fire dispatcher said.

Steep terrain around the creek made fighting the fire difficult, and firefighters worked to keep flames from nearby mobile homes and other residences, a dispatcher said.

Firefighters protected nearby structures and controlled the blaze around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, a fire dispatcher said.
