SJ Policy On Public Drunkenness Under Scrutiny

SAN JOSE (CBS 5) ―
San Jose Police received a grilling public drunkenness arrests at a meeting to review police policy Tuesday night. Dozens of speakers lined up to express their frustration at the number of arrests and who is also being arrested.
The sheer number of people getting arrested for public drunkenness in San Jose is sobering. According to the Mercury News, it is the highest in the state. Also, nearly two-thirds of the alleged offenders are Latino. San Jose's population is roughly one-third Latino, fueling speculation that they are being targeted by police.
