14-Year-Old Salinas Boy Killed In Gang Shooting
SALINAS (BCN) ―
A 14-year-old boy is dead after what police believe was a gang-related shooting in Salinas on Thursday night.
At about 8:15 p.m., police officers in the area of Sanborn Road and Garner Avenue heard several shots being fired nearby, and soon afterward received a report of a victim shot at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Rider Avenue.
The officers arrived to find Erik Lopez Garcia lying on the front porch of an apartment and suffering from several gunshot wounds to the torso. Garcia was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later, police said.
No arrests have been made in connection with the homicide.
