The California Department of Transportation will close various lanes of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge at night for at least a month beginning Monday to replace four expansion joints on the bridge, a Caltrans spokesman said.
On Monday and Tuesday, two lanes of the lower eastbound deck will close from 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. During that time, traffic will be rerouted onto the shoulders, Caltrans spokesman Bob Haus said.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the shoulder will be closed at night, Haus said.
Further lane closures will be released at the beginning of each week. The project of replacing expansion joints is expected to last six to eight weeks, according to Haus.
