Elderly Man Arrested In Bicyclist Hit & Run

El Cerrito police Sunday arrested a 79-year-old man for allegedly hitting and injuring a bicyclist with his vehicle and leaving the scene of the collision.

Richmond resident John Serna allegedly hit a bicyclist on Fairmount Avenue near the Bay Area Rapid Transit station around 11:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Officers located and arrested Serna following the hit-and-run collision, then released him pending charges from the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.
