Richmond Man Shot Dead; Police Seek Leads

RICHMOND (BCN) ― A 34-year-old man was found fatally shot by an unknown suspect in Richmond Monday night, and police have asked for the public's help in solving the homicide.

Officers responded to numerous calls reporting shots fired in the 2400 block of Lancaster Drive at around 9:20 p.m., according to the Richmond Police Department.

Arriving officers found a man suffering gunshot wounds at 2445 Lancaster Drive at 9:25 p.m., according to police. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was pronounced dead.

The victim's vehicle, a blue Dodge Charger, was found nearby.

Police reported that the suspect or suspects who fled the scene have not been identified and that a motive for the homicide has not been determined.

The Police Department is asking for possible witnesses to come forward. A $10,000 reward has been offered for any information leading to an arrest and conviction.
