Helicopter Rescue Of Man Stuck At Stinson Beach

STINSON BEACH (BCN) ― The Marin County Fire Department and Sonoma County Sheriff's Department assisted in a helicopter rescue Thursday of a man stuck at Red Rock Beach in the Stinson Beach area.

The Marin County fire department requested the assistance of the sheriff's helicopter at about 6:30 p.m. to retrieve an ill man that they were having difficulty gaining access to, according to the sheriff's department.

The helicopter paramedic was dropped off to tend to the man, he who had to be long-lined off the beach by the helicopter due to the difficulty of access to the beach for rescuers.

After being removed from the beach, the man was loaded onto the helicopter and transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in serious condition, according to the sheriff's department.

The man's identity was not currently available, but the sheriff's department believes that he is a 52-year-old Arkansas resident.
