Wind Advisory, Red Flag Warning For Bay Area Hills
(BCN)
The National Weather Service has issued a red flag fire warning and wind advisory to begin Tuesday night as high winds and low relative humidity are expected in the East Bay and North Bay hills.
A wind advisory will begin at 11 p.m. Tuesday and is expected to last through noon Wednesday, NWS forecaster Suzanne Anderson said.
Winds are expected to reach between 30 mph and 45 mph with gusts up to 55 mph in areas above 1,500 feet, Anderson said.
The windy and dry weather also has prompted the weather service to issue a red flag fire warning, Anderson said.
The warning, issued to advise fire agencies of weather conditions conducive to fires, will be in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Thursday in the North Bay and East Bay hills, Anderson said.
