Westbound I-80 Connector To 580 Open After Fire

 Real-Time Traffic Conditions

OAKLAND (CBS 5 / BCN) ― Three lanes of the connector ramp from westbound Interstate Highway 80 to eastbound Interstate Highway 580 at the MacArthur Maze in Oakland opened Monday afternoon following a fire on the roadway.

The No. 2 and 3 lanes and the carpool lane of the connector ramp were blocked due to a fire that burned on the roadway, CHP Officer Tracy Hoover said. A Sig-alert was issued at 2:48 p.m. The lanes opened shortly before 4:45 p.m.

Delays of up to an hour for westbound Highway 80 to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge were expected immediately following the fire.
