Pregnant Oakland Woman Stabbed, 911 Caller Jailed
OAKLAND (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) ―
An Oakland woman who friends and relatives say was pregnant was fatally stabbed over the weekend, and police have arrested the 911 caller who reported the crime.
Officers responded to 912 W. MacArthur Blvd. around 9:30 a.m. on a report that that someone had been assaulted with a deadly weapon, and found 24-year-old Latrice Grayson suffering from stab wounds, Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason said.
Grayson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers located the 911 caller, who was detained for questioning, Thomason said. That person was arrested for murder following further investigation.
Thomason did not release the suspect's name.
Police have not said how far along she was in her pregnancy.
Grayson's death is the 96th homicide in Oakland this year. The city had 94 homicides at this time last year.
