PG&E Seeks To Build Plants In Contra Costa County

 Environment & The Green Beat
ANTIOCH (CBS 5) ― Pacific Gas and Electric wants to build new power plants in eastern Contra Costa County. The utility said the new plants are needed to generate more energy for the growing region. But the plan is facing strong opposition.

If approved, the plants would be built in Antioch and Oakley. Environmentalists oppose the plants, seeking more solar and wind power. The California Public Utilities Commission is expected to decide in the next few months.
