Driver Ejected From Car In Petaluma 101 Crash
PETALUMA (CBS 5 / BCN) ―
A driver was critically injured when he was ejected from a Chevrolet Monte Carlo on southbound U.S. Highway 101 near Petaluma early Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
The 25-year-old man's identity is still unknown, CHP Officer Jonathan Sloat said. He suffered life-threatening injuries when he was ejected through the driver's window of his vehicle and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Sloat said.
The 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was traveling south on the highway north of E. Washington Street around midnight when it collided with a 1989 Honda driven by Terri Wong, 29, of Campbell, Sloat said. Wong was not injured.
The Monte Carlo spun out of control and stopped, blocking the No.
1 and No. 2 lanes.
The Monte Carlo was then struck by a 2001 Ford Escape driven by Christine Creedon, 19, of Petaluma, Sloat said. That collision spun the Monte Carlo into the center median, ejecting the driver.
Creedon complained of back and neck pain and was taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital, Sloat said.
The CHP is asking any witnesses to the crash and anyone who knows the identity of the Monte Carlo driver to call Officer Tim Snyder at (707) 588-1400 Ext. 362.
