Supervisor Peskin Tapped To Lead SF Democrats

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) ― San Francisco Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin was elected Wednesday as chair of a local committee that oversees the city's Democratic Party, according to Peskin's office.

Peskin, who will end his term as supervisor at the end of the year, was chosen in an 18-16 vote to head the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee, in what was touted as a victory for a more progressive agenda for San Francisco Democrats.

Supervisors Jake McGoldrick and Chris Daly were also elected to the committee.

The 34-member committee manages local Democratic fundraising, voter registration, and also makes endorsements of candidates and measures.
