 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

HALF MOON BAY (BCN) ― A thief stole more than $10,000 worth of property, including nine firearms, a laptop computer, jewelry and Christmas presents, from a home in unincorporated San Mateo County last Wednesday, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

The burglary occurred sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at a home on Verde Road, off state Highway 1 south of Half Moon Bay.

A suspect allegedly broke into the victim's locked home and locked detached garage via a sliding glass door.

The firearms were stolen out of a display cabinet inside the home. The burglar also took a computer, jewelry, and about 25 wrapped Christmas gifts, according to the sheriff's office.

The stolen firearms have serial numbers, which have been entered into the Automated Firearms System that identifies lost or stolen firearms.

Anyone with information on the burglary is encouraged to call Detective Kelly Smith at (650) 363-4057 or the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Anonymous Tip Line at (800) 547-2700.
