Man Found Dead At Oakland Airport Parking Lot
OAKLAND (BCN) ―
A 53-year-old man was found fatally shot Thursday in a parking lot on Oakland International Airport property, a police spokesman said.
An Alameda County sheriff's deputy went to check a vehicle in a parking lot on Harbor Bay Parkway at about 7:54 a.m. and found the victim suffering gunshot wounds, police spokesman Jeff Thomason said.
Emergency personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Airport spokeswoman Rosemary Barnes said the car was located in the parking lot for the airport's North Field, which is where general aviation and corporate aviation traffic operates. It also serves as a parking lot for a soccer field, Barnes said.
Oakland homicide detectives are investigating incident and no suspect information was immediately released.
The shooting marks the 79th homicide this year, Thomason said.
