Oracle Open World Descends On San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / KCBS) ―
Oracle is hosting its annual OpenWorld conference in San Francisco this week.
More than 40,000 techies are expected to descend on Moscone Center, disrupting traffic South of Market Street. Many attending seem optimistic about the economy, despite news of the $700 billion bailout under consideration for Wall Street. In fact, at least one Oracle customer described the situation as "the bottom".
The conference is billed as the world's largest gathering of Oracle customers, partners, developers, and technology enthusiasts, providing opportunities for collaborating, learning, and connecting with peers and experts.
This year's event is dedicated to helping enterprises understand and harness the power of information and use Oracle software to achieve better business results.
Oracle OpenWorld 2008 features almost 1,800 sessions and more than 300 live demonstrations of Oracle's products, including upcoming and new releases.
