Gavin Newsom Now Endorsing Obama For President

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / KCBS) ― Hillary Clinton's leading supporters in California are now endorsing Barack Obama. This signals the end of Clinton's candidacy, and the beginning of the Obama-McCain fight for the Golden State's 55 electoral votes.

L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is endorsing Obama, and now his fellow Hillary Clinton co-chair, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom says he is getting behind Obama.

"I'm with Barack Obama. This is a gift to be able to support two people who I can proudly say are extraordinary, not just the lesser of two evils," said Newsom. "With Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama I can truly say that. So I'm disappointed, sure, but I'm also quite enthusiastic about what Barack Obama represents, and the opportunity for real change in this country."
