Suspects In Oakland Robbery Spree Charged In Court
OAKLAND (CBS 5 / BCN) ―
Three suspects in a rash of takeover robberies at Oakland restaurants and other businesses were charged with multiple counts of robbery on Thursday, prosecutors said.
Rachaan Lamonthe, 30, Leon Luster, 29, and Shante Bostic, 20, all of Oakland, were arraigned in the afternoon in Alameda County Superior Court on the charges.
Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason said the three suspects were arrested Monday following a takeover robbery at the K&T Nail Salon at 10814 Bancroft Ave. shortly after 6 p.m.
According to Alameda County Assistant District Attorney Tom Rogers, all three suspects are charged in connection with the robbery at the nail salon. He said they face multiple charges because many patrons were robbed.
Rogers added that Lamonthe also faces multiple robbery charges in connection with robberies at the Full Moon Seafood House at 2042 MacArthur Blvd. at 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 24 and at the Nomad Case at 6500 Shattuck Ave. at 10:10 p.m. on Aug. 22.
Thomason said that police believe the three suspects also were involved in a robbery at the Kerry House bar at 4092 Piedmont Ave. at 1:40 a.m. on Aug. 4, but Rogers said police hadn't yet given him their report on that incident.
Rogers said Lamonthe and Luster both have prior felony convictions but that Bostic doesn't have a prior record.
