A street in Oakland was expected to remain closed until sometime Wednesday evening because of a power pole that fell after it was struck by a vehicle early Wednesday.
The vehicle crashed into the pole on Market Street, between 54th and 55th streets, around 1:20 a.m., Pacific Gas & Electric spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian said.
The road remained blocked late Wednesday afternoon while crews worked to replace the pole, Sarkissian said.
Only one PG&E customer was without power, she added.
