Man Shot Dead On MacArthur Blvd. In Oakland

OAKLAND (CBS 5 / BCN) ― Police Tuesday identified Zaire Washington as the 24-year-old Oakland man killed in the city Monday night.

Officers were dispatched to 8296 MacArthur Blvd. on reports of the shooting at about 6:45 p.m., according to Oakland police spokesman Roland Holmgren.

Police located Washington suffering gunshot wounds and he was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, Holmgren reported.

The shooting marked the 66th homicide in the city this year.
