4 Dead In Rash Of Shootings In Oakland
OAKLAND (CBS 5 / BCN) ―
The fourth fatal shooting in Oakland in less than 24 hours claimed a male's life Sunday night, police said Monday.
The victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 800 block of 37th Street at about 6:40 p.m. Sunday, according to officials.
Another male was killed shortly before noon Sunday. Police responded to the 8600 block of International Boulevard at about 11:50 a.m. Sunday and found a man dead from gunshot wounds, according to officials.
The first fatal shooting Sunday was reported at 1:48 a.m. and brought officers to the intersection of 14th and Webster streets, police said.
One person was pronounced dead as a result of that shooting, according to officials.
A shooting that occurred late Saturday night left one male dead and another in stable condition at a local hospital, police said.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of Seventh Street at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday where two gunshot victims were located, according to officials.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was transported to an area hospital where he was reportedly in stable condition.
No suspects have been arrested in connection with any of the shootings, according to officials.
The weekend killings pushed Oakland's 2007 homicide total to 126. There were 148 murders in Oakland in 2006.
