2nd Fatal Shooting In North Richmond In 2 Days

RICHMOND (BCN) ― Officials Thursday are investigating the second fatal shooting in the unincorporated Contra Costa County area of North Richmond in two days.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 1500 block of Martin Drive, according to Contra Costa County sheriff's Lt. Matt Chertkow.

A man was found suffering at least one gunshot wound, Chertkow said.

Authorities rendered first aid but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Chertkow.

No suspects have been arrested, Chertkow said.

On Tuesday night, a 30-year-old Pinole man was fatally shot in the head near the intersection of First Street and West Grove Avenue in North Richmond, according to police.

Officers responded to the shooting at about 11 p.m. and found Abdifatah Robleh suffering a gunshot wound. Robleh was also pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A suspect is in custody in connection with that fatal shooting,
Chertkow said Thursday.
