North Bay Woman Sexually Assaulted On Drive Home
SANTA ROSA (BCN) ―
A 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted Tuesday as she was returning home from night classes at Santa Rosa Junior College, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department announced Wednesday.
The victim told sheriff's deputies late Tuesday night she was driving home after a class around 10:30 p.m. when another driver began flashing his headlights from behind her. The suspect pulled alongside her and appeared to ask her to pull over, according to the sheriff's department.
The victim stopped her vehicle at Bennett Valley Road southeast of Enterprise Road and the man walked over to her vehicle.
The suspect, who had the neck of his shirt pulled above his nose, told the victim there had been a motorcycle accident and to call 911, but as she began to make the call he told her to hang up or he would harm her, the sheriff's department reported.
The victim was then sexually assaulted in her car, according to the sheriff's department.
The suspect, only described as a man in his 20s, fled the area in a red or maroon four-door sedan.
