Officials investigating a crash between two historic San Francisco street cars that injured 14 people said one of the drivers involved had been cautioned about being too close to other trains about an hour beforehand, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The Municipal Transportation Agency said a historic F Market-line train rear-ended another historic train while heading southbound on an exclusive streetcar right of way that runs along the Embarcadero at Washington Street.
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. Monday. The scene was cleared and service resumed by 7:45 p.m.
Muni spokesman Judson True said none of the people hurt in the crash suffered life-threatening injuries, but both operators and four passengers were taken to area hospitals.
Another eight passengers were treated at the scene.
The incident comes after two other Muni Metro trains were involved in a rear-end crash near AT&T Park on June 14.
In that crash earlier this summer, 16 people were hurt.
