Light Brown Apple Moth

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said this summer's spraying for the light brown apple moth won't begin until tests on the pesticide's health effects are conducted. But CBS 5 Investigates has learned that plan may not go far enough.
The governor announced the state would have the contractor perform what he called a "six-pack" of tests on a pesticide called Checkmate. But the state wants testing completed before spraying in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties is scheduled to begin in August. Tests to determine long-term health effects of the pesticide take much longer.
