3 Arrested, 1 Sought In Morgan Hill Stabbings
MORGAN HILL (BCN) ―
Morgan Hill police are investigating two unrelated stabbings that both took place Friday night.
Police have arrested three people and are searching for a fourth suspect in the first stabbing, which was reported at about 9:30 p.m. Friday and happened in the parking lot of an am/pm convenience store at 18605 Monterey Rd.
Arriving officers found two men who had been stabbed multiple times, including one who had suffered critical wounds to his chest. The victims were taken to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries.
Later Friday evening, a third stabbing victim arrived at a hospital in south San Jose and said he was stabbed at a party. But police determined that the victim, an 18-year-old man named Humberto Gonzalez, was involved in the stabbing incident, police said.
Gonzalez was one of three people arrested Saturday for the stabbing. He faces attempted murder charges, while a 15-year-old Gilroy boy faces assault with a deadly weapon charge and a 17-year-old girl faces battery charges.
Police are also looking for Alejandro Hernandez, a 19-year-old San Jose man who they believe also had a role in the stabbing. An attempt to arrest Hernandez at his home Saturday was unsuccessful, and he has still not been taken into custody.
A second stabbing was reported to Morgan Hill police at about 11:30 p.m. Friday. Arriving officers traveled to the El Toro Fire Station on Monterey Road and found a stabbing victim who had collapsed in the fire house garage.
The victim, a 29-year-old San Jose man, was allegedly approached by two suspects who demanded money and stabbed the victim during a brief struggle.
The victim was transported via helicopter to a local hospital with a single stab wound to his abdomen.
Police believe the stabbing incidents are not related. Anyone with information about the stabbings is encouraged to contact Morgan Hill police at (408) 779-2101 or the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-7867.
