SFPD Shoots Suspect After 2 Victims Found Shot

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / KCBS / AP / BCN) ― A 19-year-old man was the victim in a shooting involving San Francisco police overnight, following the earlier shootings of two people in the 5000 block of Mission Street.

The initial shootings were reported about 11:55 p.m. Friday to police who were already monitoring the area, SFPD Sgt. Lyn Tomioka said.

"There was a hip-hop event that just got overcrowded and had been shut down," said Tomioka. "And they were advised that there were two gunshot victims."

There was a huge group of people near the intersection of Mission Street and Geneva Avenue, according to Tomioka, who said the two gunshot victims were found and taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

Moments later, she said a teenager got into a shootout with a police officer near a Beacon gas station at the intersection.

The suspect was also taken to San Francisco General.

The suspect and the two victims all suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, Tomioka said.
