Migden In Uphill Battle Against Leno, Nation

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ― The hottest legislative race in California is right here in the Bay Area. In the 3rd State Senate District, incumbent Carole Migden is locked in a battle with Assemblyman Mark Leno and former Assemblyman Joe Nation.

Migden is in the bull's eye, fighting for her political life against her one-time ally Leno. Both are openly gay and could split the gay vote, handing the race to Joe Nation, who once represented Marin County in the Assembly.

For Migden, it's been a tough year. Last week, she was sued by the victim of a car that she rear-ended in a highly publicized accident. Then there was a record $350,000 fine leveled against her for campaign violations.
