Man Found Shot Dead In Martinez Motel Parking Lot

MARTINEZ (BCN) ― A 48-year-old man was shot to death and found in America's Best Value Inn parking lot in Martinez on Sunday night, according to the Police Department.

Police reportedly received a call about a person falling down in parking lot at 3999 Alhambra Ave. just after 9:30 p.m. where they found the victim.

When police arrived, dispatch was taking a phone call from a man at the same hotel who said a man with a gun trying to enter his room, police said. The caller said the man reportedly left after he did not let him in the room.

Police have not arrested any suspects. They are asking anyone with information to call Detective Dave Mathers at (925) 372-3453 or Bay Area Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
