 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

SANTA ROSA (CBS 5 / BCN) ― A Sebastopol man was arrested on multiple weapons violations in Santa Rosa on Wednesday after a sheriff's deputy making a traffic stop found a loaded handgun, a machete and a sword.

A deputy from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department reported stopping a driver, later identified as 26-year-old Anthony Emmons, for a minor traffic violation on Cleveland Avenue at around 10:50 p.m.

During the stop, the officer found a loaded handgun in Emmons' waistband, according to the sheriff's department.

A search of Emmons' car turned up additional ammunition, knives, a machete and a sword.

According to the sheriff's department, Emmons claimed the weapons were kept in his car for self-protection.

Emmons was arrested for weapons violations and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.

The incident is under investigation.
