Motorcycle Crash Shuts Lanes Of 580 In Livermore
LIVERMORE (BCN) ―
An injury motorcycle crash partially shut down westbound Interstate Highway 580 in Livermore for more than an hour Tuesday morning.
The crash was reported at 7:44 a.m. on westbound I-580 just west of Springtown Boulevard.
CHP Officer Kevin Kroncke said the motorcyclist may have rear-ended a truck. After the crash, he said, "the rider was in one lane and the motorcycle in the other."
A medical helicopter landed nearby at about 8:15 a.m. and airlifted the motorcyclist to a hospital.
Several westbound lanes were shut down while emergency crews dealt with the crash, and the roadway reopened at 8:55 a.m.
