Joe Montana Puts Sonoma County Estate On Market
SONOMA COUNTY (CBS 5 / AP) ―
Interested home buyers with exceptionally deep pockets have a chance to live in a sprawling Sonoma County residence that a Hall of Fame quarterback once called home.
Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Joe Montana has put his estate outside of Calistoga up for sale.
Montana is asking $49 million for the 500-acre property.
Besides a 9,700-square-foot main residence, the estate includes an equestrian center, basketball court, skeet shooting range, gym, pool and spa.
Local real estate agents say if Montana gets even close to his asking price, it will be a record sale for Sonoma County.
Coldwell Banker's Rick Laws said the most expensive home sales on record on the county's Multiple Listing Service were two properties that sold for $15 million each in 2001.
