Hong Kong Jewel Merchants Robbed Near So. SF Hotel
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) ―
South San Francisco police are searching for three men who robbed two jewelry salesmen visiting from Hong Kong Wednesday night.
The salesmen were in the Bay Area showing their jewelry, which featured pieces of gold and diamonds, to businesses in the Peninsula, police said. They were staying at a hotel in the 200 block of South Airport Boulevard.
Police said the salesmen returned to the hotel around 10:15 p.m. and parked their rental car in the hotel parking lot. A light-colored sedan then parked behind their vehicle, blocking them in. Three men exited the sedan, opened the front doors to the rental car, and pinned the salesmen in their seats.
The suspects then grabbed several black leather bags carrying jewelry out of the rental car and fled in the sedan, police said.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact police at (650) 877-8900.
