Teen Beaten Near Hercules High Expected To Recover
HERCULES (BCN) ―
A 15-year-old Hercules High School student who was beaten and knocked unconscious Thursday morning near the school is expected to recover from his injuries, Hercules Police Chief Fred Deltorchio said Monday.
Police received a call at 9:52 a.m. reporting a man lying in the street at 2352 Redwood Road, less than half a mile from Hercules Middle/High School.
Officers responded and found the teenager in the street. He had injuries to the left side of his head and face and was only partly conscious, Deltorchio said.
The teenager was able to tell officers that he had been walking when he was approached from behind and attacked, but, possibly because he was knocked unconscious, the boy has had trouble describing the suspects, Deltorchio said.
Some of the victim's property had been stolen during the attack, according to Deltorchio.
The boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a head injury.
