A woman was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Hayward Monday night, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
Hayward police Sgt. Jeff Lutzinger said the woman was struck around 9:15 p.m. on the tracks near West Winton Avenue.
No one on Amtrak train No. 14, which was heading from Los Angeles to Seattle, was injured when the train hit the pedestrian, Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said. He said the train was delayed about two hours.
The Alameda County coroner's bureau, which is investigating the death, had not identified the victim as of Tuesday afternoon.
