Police Probe Surveillance Video In BART Shooting

 CBS 5 CrimeWatch

HAYWARD (AP) ― Investigators are hoping surveillance video will lead them to a suspect after a fatal shooting outside of the downtown Hayward BART station.

Police say an 18-year-old man was shot and killed during an altercation involving a group of men who had gathered outside the station around 12:40 p.m. Monday.

After the shooting, the teen stumbled into the station and collapsed near an agent's booth.

He died at a nearby hospital. His name has not been released.

A BART spokesman says police are looking for a "person of interest" who was caught on surveillance video.

A second person—a middle-aged man described by police as an innocent bystander—was wounded by the gunfire. He was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
