$1 Toll Increase Likely For Golden Gate Bridge
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / KCBS) ―
The highest bridge toll in the Bay Area could go up by another dollar as the Golden Gate Bridge District weighs how to close a five-year, $91 million budget shortfall.
Fuel and other costs associated with maintaining the bridge could put tolls at $5 for FasTrak users and $6 for other drivers, said a spokeswoman.
The proposal is up for public comment. Once that period ends, those hikes would start sometime between July of this year and the beginning of 2009.
