Investigators are trying to determine if a U.S. Postal Service supervisor who was shot and killed execution-style in San Francisco was targeted by an employee who later shot himself to death.
Genevieve Paez, 53, a post office customer service supervisor and a mother of four, was found dead outside her home in San Francisco's Visitacion Valley Tuesday morning.

Nov. 29: SF Police Probe Execution-Style Killing Of MotherAccording to police Sgt. Steve Mannina, homicide inspectors are looking into the possibility that Julius Tartt, a 39-year-old postal employee, may have shot Paez as she was getting into her silver sport utility vehicle to go to work at the post office at 180 Napoleon St.
The next day, Tartt was found dead in his car in a Livermore parking lot off Bluebell Drive. The Alameda County
coroner's office said he shot himself to death.
Investigators are looking at a recent dispute between Paez and Tartt at the post office, including what one police official called a "discipline issue."
Tartt worked as a postal carrier under the supervision of Paez at the Napoleon Street branch, according to police.
Rumors are swirling on the Internet that Paez and Tartt had some problems in their working relationship. More than 50 comments have come in on a story on Postalreporter.com, an insider Web site for postal employees.
Some of the comments paint an unflattering picture of relations among supervisors and mail carriers throughout the U.S. Postal Service. Other comments wish Paez's family well and call for a speedy investigation.
A post office spokesman did not return calls for comment and employees at the Napoleon branch refused to comment.
Meanwhile, police were also conducting a ballistics comparison between the gun recovered in Livermore from Tartt's suicide matches the gun used in Paez's killing.
Mannina said that the SFPD would not make any further announcement unless there was a definitive link found between Tartt's suicide and Paez's killing.
