Gas Main Break Prompts Evacuation In Sunnyvale
SUNNYVALE (BCN) ―
Pacific Gas and Electric Co. crews restored gas service Saturday afternoon to two buildings in Sunnyvale after an earlier gas main break caused by construction crews outside, a PG&E spokesman said.
The incident was reported to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety at 12:02 p.m., a dispatcher said.
The 1-inch plastic gas line ruptured at 1235 Reamwood Ave., PG&E spokesman JD Guidi said. Two businesses lost gas service.
One of the buildings required evacuation, but the other was not occupied at the time, Guidi said.
Service was restored to both buildings just before 2 p.m., he said.
