12 Arrested In Alleged Santa Rosa Gang Attack
SANTA ROSA (BCN) ―
Police on Tuesday arrested 12 youths in Santa Rosa in connection with an apparent gang attack earlier this month.
Gang crimes investigators made the arrests at various locations beginning at 1 p.m., Santa Rosa police said.
The investigation centered around the Nov. 12 stabbing and beating of a 15-year-old boy on Apple Valley Lane, police said. Investigators said a fight erupted when several gang members confronted a group of rival gang members in the street.
Witnesses reported seeing as many as 20 people carrying metal rods, sticks, knives and wrenches and yelling gang slogans. Most fled before police arrived.
The victim was treated at a hospital and was later released.
Three of the suspects arrested Tuesday for fighting in public and participating in a gang crime are 15 years old. Five are 14, three are 13, and one is 12, according to police. One of the suspects is female.
All of the suspects were taken to the juvenile justice center.
Police are withholding their names because of their age.
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call Santa Rosa police Detective Tommy Isachsen at (707) 543-3634.
