5 Stabbed, 1 Beaten At Fremont Wedding Reception
FREMONT (CBS 5 / AP / BCN) ―
Fremont police were investigating a bloody fight at a weekend wedding reception that left six men injured.
Authorities said the melee started when six to eight men crashed the party around 9 p.m. Saturday at Niles Banquet Hall in Fremont.
When the uninvited guests were asked to leave the hall, a fight broke out and spread into the parking lot at 37270 Niles Blvd., leaving five men stabbed and a sixth beaten.
All five stabbing victims and the sixth victim who sustained head trauma were transported to area hospitals. Four of the victims suffered major injuries, according to the Fremont Fire Department.
Anyone with information was encouraged by investigators to contact the Fremont Police Department at (510) 790-6800.
The banquet hall is the venu where a 35-year-old man was fatally shot by party crashers during a wedding reception in February. Police said the shooting that killed Francisco Sanchez was believed to be gang-related.
