Fremont Vacant House Fire May Have Been Arson
FREMONT (BCN) ―
A fire in a vacant Fremont home early Thursday morning has firefighters investigating whether the flames were set on purpose, according to the Fire Department.
A neighbor reported smoke was coming from the garage of 36302 Frobisher Drive around 12:40 a.m.
Eighteen firefighters helped attack the flames and check on possible occupants until about 1 a.m.
The house was vacant but firefighters found evidence of unauthorized use, so they started an investigation with the Police Department.
Damage was limited to the garage area with some minor damage to the house.
Fire officials estimated the fire caused about $10,000 worth of damage.
