Oakland: Five Shootings In 18 Hours Leave 3 Dead
OAKLAND (BCN) ―
Oakland police are investigating at least five shootings occurring within 18 hours that left three people dead and four injured.
The first fatal shooting happened about 1:20 p.m. Friday. Officers responded to the 500 block of 58th Street and found a victim suffering gunshot wounds.
The second fatal incident was a drive-by shooting in the 9000 and 9100 blocks of Hillside Street that claimed two victims' lives shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.
Police haven't released the victims' names because their families need to be contacted.
Officers responded to another shooting Saturday at about 12:20 a.m. in the 3100 block of 14th Avenue, according to police. The victim was is reportedly in stable condition.
Two non-fatal shootings happened Friday, police reported. The first was around 10:30 a.m. Friday, in the 8300 block of International Boulevard, police said. One victim was found suffering minor injuries.
The second shooting occurred at about 10:10 p.m. in the 1600 block of 11th Street, police said. Two victims were injured.
