Woman Dead After Fight At SJ Country/Western Club
SAN JOSE (BCN) ―
San Jose police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman on southbound state Highway 87 early Saturday morning after an altercation at a nightclub in the city, police Officer Jermaine Thomas said.
The shooting was reported at about 1:15 a.m., and officers responded to find the woman and three other people in a vehicle near the intersection of Southwest Expressway and Leigh Avenue.
According to Thomas, the people in the vehicle had gotten into an altercation with a group of suspects at the Rodeo Club, a country/western-themed club located at 610 Coleman Ave., according to Thomas.
While driving away from the club, another vehicle pulled alongside the victims' vehicle and fired multiple shots at it on southbound Highway 87 just north of Interstate Highway 280, Thomas said.
The victims' vehicle eventually stopped at Southwest Expressway and Leigh Avenue, where the responding officers found it. No one else in the vehicle was injured, according to Thomas.
No one has been arrested in connection in the shooting, and no description of the suspects or the suspect vehicle was immediately available, Thomas said.
