Army Spc. Jake Robert Velloza, of Inverness, was killed in Iraq on May 2 by a lone sniper in Mosul. His body was flown to SFO Wednesday morning, where it was greeted by the Patriot Guard, and then transported to Petaluma.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, 10189 State Highway 1, Olema. Interment is at the Olema Cemetery.

A visitation is scheduled Friday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory at 850 Keokuk St. in Petaluma. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. that day at St. James Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma.
