Fairfield Teen Recovering After Gang Shooting
FAIRFIELD (BCN) ―
A 17-year-old boy who was shot in Fairfield early Sunday morning is recovering at a hospital, police said Thursday.
Cpl. Cleo Mayoral said the teen is in stable condition and has given police a statement on the shooting.
He was shot once in the chest and once in the side, and a doctor said the two wounds could have killed him, Mayoral said.
Police found the boy lying in a crosswalk at the intersection of Travis Boulevard and Clay Street, where he had been walking alone around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
A dark-colored vehicle was seen leaving the area after the shooting, Mayoral said. Police have no suspects but believe the shooting was gang-related.
