Motorcyclist Jailed After Fleeing Fairfield Police
FAIRFIELD (BCN) ―
A 41-year-old Fairfield man driving a motorcycle was arrested after trying to flee from a police officer on a motorcycle in the city Thursday afternoon, according to Fairfield police.
Kevin James Johnson was arrested after the officer initially tried to make a traffic stop at about 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Heath Drive and Alaska Avenue, police said.
Johnson allegedly sped away from the officer on a 1994 Kawasaki motorcycle and drove south on Fairfield Avenue, according to police.
After a pursuit lasting about four minutes, Johnson was not able to make the turn onto Travis Boulevard when his motorcycle stalled. Responding officers were able to block Johnson from continuing and he was arrested after a brief struggle, police said.
Johnson was taken to a local hospital after complaining of pain in his leg, and was later booked into Solano County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, evading arrest, driving with a suspended license, and violation of parole, according to police.
