Fairfield Man Charged In Metro PCS Employee Murder
FAIRFIELD (BCN) ―
The Solano County District Attorney's Office filed a murder complaint Tuesday against the suspect in the murder of a Metro PCS store employee.
Kevin M. Moore, 23, of Fairfield is charged with fatally shooting 20-year-old Diego Navarro, also of Fairfield, at a Metro PCS store in Suisun Thursday afternoon.
Moore allegedly fled in a green van after the shooting. The van was spotted on Walters Road at East Tabor Avenue by Fairfield police, who began chasing it.
The van struck a curb near Walters Road and Huntington Drive and came to a stop, and Moore ran toward a nearby Burger King restaurant.
Fairfield police said Moore ignored commands to stop and show his hands, and at one point turned his head and shoulders toward officers and reached for his waistband.
Fairfield police Officer Justin Gutierrez opened fire, hitting Moore in the torso, police said. Moore was listed in stable condition Tuesday at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, Fairfield police said.
Moore did not have a gun when he was arrested but a firearm was found several minutes later in the yard of a residence off Dobe Lane, Fairfield police said.
A date for Moore's arraignment has not been set.
