3 Arrested In Fairfield Kidnapping-Ransom Scheme
VACAVILLE (CBS 5 / BCN) ―
Fairfield police arrested three men Thursday on suspicion of kidnapping a Suisun man for ransom.
Police received a call around 4 p.m. from a man who said he was being held against his will in the 1300 block of Crowley Lane.
The 20-year-old man was surrounded by three suspects in a parking lot when police arrived, Officer Rebecca Belk said.
Officers learned the victim originally went with the three suspects from Fairfield to Vacaville but he was beaten there and taken against his will to the parking lot on Crowley Lane, Belk said. The suspects attempted to collect money for his release, Belk said.
The victim received bumps and bruises but declined medical attention.
Police arrested Jacob Victor, 27, of Vacaville, Daniel Quintanilla, 26, of Fairfield, and Stacey Mayes, 42, of Vacaville, for kidnapping for ransom, criminal threats and conspiracy.
Mayes also was arrested for a parole violation. All three suspects were booked into the Solano County Jail.
Police are still investigating the incident, but Belk said it does not appear to be a random attack and all three suspects knew the victim.
